Random Moments from Childhood

It's weird how you can remember certain things from childhood. I've been trying to search for a book that I liked as a kid. When we went on our trips to Vermont, my mother bought some very old books from a church yardsale. This book that I took a liking to was an old old book used for classes. I remember it was dark blue. I don't recall the title at all. I honestly thought I still had this book because I always kept it with my Great Illustrated Classics collection but it's gone.

From what I can remember, It has a boy and a girl:
1. they were pushing their baby sibling in a stroller and I believe the stroller got away from them.
2. A beach segment where they went to the beach.
3. The two kids came across a roof propped up to a ladder. I think a man was on the roof or not. Not sure.
4. As usual, something involving a dog or cat.

That's all I can remember at the moment but I'll have to add more later if I can recall it. Well, back to my searches.

EDIT: *falls over* Geez, that was fast! A friend told me it sounded like "Dick and Jane" so I did a search which led me to History of Sally, Dick & Jane. Second row is the cover of my book, "The New Friendly Village" which stars Alice and Jerry! Wow!
